Wire mesh is used everywhere — but many people do not know all the different ways it helps. At Shree Balaji Anonet, we are a wire mesh netting supplier in Raipur and our clients use mesh for many different things. Here is a clear list of uses — so you know which mesh fits your work.
1. Construction Work
RCC Slab and Wall Reinforcement
Welded wire mesh (square grid type) is put inside concrete slabs, walls, and foundations. It adds strength and stops cracking. The mesh takes the tension force while the concrete takes the compression. This makes structures last longer and need less repair. Common spec: WRM 4″ × 4″ (100 mm × 100 mm) with 4 mm GI wire.
Plaster and Wall Mesh
Thin welded mesh is fixed on walls before plastering. This stops cracks from appearing later — especially on brick or block walls where movement happens due to moisture or temperature. Common spec: ½″ × ½″ to 1″ × 1″ openings, 22G to 24G GI wire.
Fencing and Compound Walls
Chain link netting on angle or RCC posts makes strong, low-cost boundary fencing. Used for factories, warehouses, residential complexes, schools, and farms. Height: 4 ft to 6 ft is standard. PVC green mesh is popular — it hides dust and gives privacy. 10G GI wire is heavy duty. 12G is enough for most compounds.
2. Industrial Safety
Machine Guards
Heavy welded mesh panels built into metal frames act as safety barriers around machines. These stop workers from touching moving parts while still giving a clear view. Needed for: lathes, presses, cutting machines, conveyor belts. Must meet factory safety rules. Common spec: 12 mm or 25 mm openings, thick 3–4 mm wire, frame around the panel.
Walkway and Platform Mesh
Welded mesh on raised walkways and working platforms gives a non-slip surface with drainage — water and oil pass through. Good grip even when wet. Common spec: 30 mm × 30 mm or 25 mm × 50 mm openings, thick wire (minimum 3 mm), often galvanized.
Partitions and Cages
Welded mesh walls are used to create tool rooms, store rooms, battery rooms, and secure cages inside big factory halls. Flexible — can be built to any size. Allows airflow and visibility. Locks can be added for security.
3. Farming and Poultry
Chain link or welded mesh makes animal cages, poultry enclosures, crop protection nets, and boundary fencing against wild animals and vermin. PVC-coated mesh in green or black works well outdoors and blends with the surroundings.
4. Storage and Warehouse
Storage Cages
Welded mesh panels assembled into lockable cages for storing tools, raw material, or finished goods. Quick to put up. Strong. Visitors can see what is inside without opening.
Pallet and Rack Mesh
Mesh sheets on the back and sides of pallet racks stop items from falling. Commonly used in warehouses with tall racks. Custom size available.
5. Screens and Filters
Woven wire mesh (fine mesh) is used for: window screens, ventilation grilles, HVAC intake filters, grain sorting, sand sieving, and fly-proof kitchen mesh. Stainless steel or GI, based on need.
